When to Call a Meeting?
Project or Scrum Managers need know when to step in to Stop the Email Traffic and Call a Meeting (in person or virtual). What is that magic number of people (To/Cc) ?
What is that magic number of people (To/Cc) 2,3, 4,5, 12 plus?
When the email chatter grows or people start talking too much via email trading questions, then it is time to get the team together for effective communications.
The probability of discovering a successful solution peaks at a certain range and deteriorates or becomes ineffective with too many people in the To or Cc message.
I always find it funny when people question why I call a meeting. I did get an engineer apologizing for causing a multi-email traffic message chain. He realized he should have called a meeting to get the issue satisfied sooner and documented properly.
