Information Radiators – Simple Calendars
Creating and Posting Sprint Calendars is important and help a team develop a cadence. I print out multiple copies and post them around my Scrum Rooms and outside the entrances. I also go around and mark off the days as we go. It is another visual to the Scrum Board I create.
My simple calendars include the scrum ceremonies, except for the Daily Scrum (just to save space). They also include major holidays.
Some might ask, why the retro is in the next Sprint? We had people overseas and I believe it is important to include everyone in the Retros. Since this team was usually working until 5pm at the end of the Sprint it made sense to hold the Retro the next morning, so all could participate.
On the calendars are also Grooming sessions. I created a grooming to allow the Scrum Team to meet with the PO before the Sprint Planning session so the Team can see the stories, ask questions and confirm if there is enough information to work the story.
Here is a 4 week Sprint with 8 hour Sprint Planning sessions.
I also attached a spreadsheet I created for anyone to use to create the calendars. For each new Sprint start date, just change the date in the 1st Sprint day cell (the one with the Sprint Planning green graphic) and the dates should change accordingly. Now I did do any major testing especially at year changes, but it should work fine.

It is always good to create a calendar key because you always get asked about the ceremonies or events.
